Disciplinary policies and procedures

The request was partially successful.

Dear Rednock School, Dursley,

I would like to find out about your disciplinary policies and procedures.

Could I have a copy of your:
* Pupil disciplinary procedure.
* Harassment and bullying policy.
* Dignity at work policy.
* Dignity at study policy.

If you operate a "merit system" or "demerit system" can you please explain how this operates. For instance:
* What is the system by which you gauge severity of a behaviour awarded a detriment such as a "detention" or not attending a "reward trip."
* What is the system which you gauge a behaviour that leads to a benefit, such as a "reward trip" or other benefit.
* What recordkeeping system do you have to monitor the number of merits or demerits awarded to a specific pupil.

Which detriment or benefit would you award for the following behaviours:
* Leaving a classroom to use the washroom without asking the teacher.
* Leaving a classroom to refill a water bottle without asking the teacher.
* Answering multiple questions put by the teacher.
* Asking the teacher questions.
* Not answering the teacher's questions.
* Giving an answer to a question the teacher does not agree with.
* Disagreeing with the teacher.
* Conferring with other pupils during class.
* Asking other pupils questions during class.
* Not taking part in group work.
* Leaving the classroom following a disagreement.
* Not handing in homework.
* Not handing in homework after given an extension.
* Not attending school on any given day.
* Using school equipment or facilities without permission.
* Running within the school.
* Eating and/or drinking outside of canteens.
* Ascending or descending staircases in the wrong direction.
* Wearing specific clothes that are banned in given contexts.
* Speaking a language other than English.
* Using a smartphone, tablet or other non-school provided device during lessons.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Rednock School, Dursley,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Rednock School, Dursley's handling of my FOI request 'Disciplinary policies and procedures'.

I appreciate you sending me the policies but it is not obvious from them what the determinant or otherwise to a pupil would be subject to if they performed one of the actions I referred to, which I shall repeat for your convenience:
* Leaving a classroom to use the washroom without asking the teacher.
* Leaving a classroom to refill a water bottle without asking the teacher.
* Answering multiple questions put by the teacher.
* Asking the teacher questions.
* Not answering the teacher's questions.
* Giving an answer to a question the teacher does not agree with.
* Disagreeing with the teacher.
* Conferring with other pupils during class.
* Asking other pupils questions during class.
* Not taking part in group work.
* Leaving the classroom following a disagreement.
* Not handing in homework.
* Not handing in homework after given an extension.
* Not attending school on any given day.
* Using school equipment or facilities without permission.
* Running within the school.
* Eating and/or drinking outside of canteens.
* Ascending or descending staircases in the wrong direction.
* Wearing specific clothes that are banned in given contexts.
* Speaking a language other than English.
* Using a smartphone, tablet or other non-school provided device during lessons.

I would be grateful if you could clarify what action, if any, would be taken in these circumstances.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/d...
