Disappearance and death of Dr. David Kelly - Role of Devon and Cornwall Police

Devon and Cornwall Constabulary did not have the information requested.

Dear Devon and Cornwall Constabulary,

I wish to make a Freedom of Information Request with respect to the role, if any, of Devon & Cornwall Constabulary in the investigation into the disappearance and suspicious death of Dr. David Kelly in July 2003.

It is a matter of public record (via the Hutton Inquiry) that Dr. Kelly spent a number of days in Cornwall in July 2003. Some reports allege that he stayed in a "safe house" and/or that he was accompanied by a "minder" from the UK Government.

1. Did Devon and Cornwall Constabulary play a role of any kind in the investigation of the disappearance and death of Dr. David Kelly? If so, please disclose what that role consisted of.

2. Did Devon and Cornwall Constabulary interview the two residents of Gorran Haven with whom Dr. Kelly and his wife Janice spent the afternoon of Saturday 12th July 2003?

3. If so, I ask for copies of the statements made by the two residents of Gorran Haven.

4. Did Devon & Cornwall Constabulary establish when Dr. Kelly arrived in Cornwall? If so, on what date and at what time did Dr. Kelly arrive in Cornwall. Please state where the date and time refers to. There are reasons to doubt the accuracy of the account given to the Hutton Inquiry on this matter.

5. Did Devon and Cornwall Constabulary establish the Cornwall address(es) at which Dr. Kelly stayed in July 2003? If so, please list all such addresses.

6. I ask for a log of all communications between Devon and Cornwall Constabulary and Thames Valley Police on this matter of Dr. Kelly's diappearance and death.

7. I ask for copies of all witness statements and other documents provided by Devon and Cornwall Constabulary to Thames Valley Police in connection with the disappearance and death of Dr. Kelly.

8. Did Devon and Cornwall Constabulary provide any information or documents to the Hutton Inquiry? If so, please list the documents supplied to the Hutton Inquiry. Further, I ask for copies of all such documents.

Thank you

Yours faithfully,

(Dr) Andrew Watt
