I am looking into the impact of COVID on the delivery of Disabled Facilities Grants by local authorities.

Could you please provide the following information:

1. Financial - what was your carry forward at the end of 2019/20.
2. Financial - What was the budget in 2020/21 excluding carry forward
3. Financial - What have you spent to date 2020/21 (please specify up to what period).
4. How many adaptations have been completed in 2019/20
5. How many adaptations on average have been completed over the last 5 years to the end of 2019/20.
6. How many adaptations have been completed in 2020/21 (please specify up to what period).
7. What benchmarking do you carry out with other authorities.

that you have requested.  Our response is as follows, in bold, alongside
your own notations.
 
 
I am looking into the impact of COVID on the delivery of Disabled
Facilities Grants by local authorities.
 
Could you please provide the following information:

£475,979.70

 

 2. Financial - What was the budget in 2020/21 excluding carry forward -
£722,417

 

 3. Financial - What have you spent to date 2020/21 (please specify up to
what period) - £36,478 from 20/21 budget and £43,533 from 19/20 in
total £80,020

 

 4. How many adaptations have been completed in 2019/20 - 26 approved in
19/20

 

 5. How many adaptations on average have been completed over the last 5
years to the end of 2019/20 – 264 since 14/15

 

 6. How many adaptations have been completed in 2020/21 (please specify up
to what period) –10 that were also approved in 20/21 to end of Jan 21

 

 7. What benchmarking do you carry out with other authorities – N/A

 
Apologies I inadvertently missed the following questions off my previous
request.
 
Could you please provide the following information:
 

 1. During 2018/19, how long (in days) on average did it take from request
to completion of adaptation? - 108 days

 
2.      During 2019/20, how long (in days) on average did it take from
request to completion of adaptation? - 88 days
 
3.      During 2020/21 (up to date), how long (in days) on average has it
taken from request to completion of adaption? - 99 days
 
The above days are based on the length of time between the formal
application being received and the completion date. But please note once
the grant is approved County Council project manage the works so we have
no control of the completion date.

19/20 – To clarify our previous answer. In 19/20, 40 adaptations were
approved in total, 26 of these were completed and a further 14 were
completed that had been approved in previous years.
 
 
5. How many adaptations on average have been completed over the last 5
years to the end of 2019/20 – 264 since 14/15 - 58.2 on average were
completed each year over the last 5 years.
 
 
6. How many adaptations have been completed in 2020/21 (please specify up
to what period) –10 that were also approved in 20/21 to end of Jan 21 - 5
others were completed that were approved in a previous year
