Dear University of Nottingham,

I would be grateful if you could provide the following statistics for the last three A101 Entry Cycles (2019 entry, 2018 entry, 2017 entry).

- Number of applicants that applied with GAMSAT that had reasonable adjustments (as defined by Acer)
- Number of interview invites to candidates with specific learning disabilities
- Number of offers given to candidates with specific learning disabilities
- Number of offers accepted by candidates with specific learning disabilities

I would also like to know what additional provisions, if any, are in place for candidates with specific learning disabilities in regards with the medicine interviews?

Yours faithfully,

Abdullah Baraghaba

Dear Abdullah

I am writing further to your request for information regarding A101 Medicine applications. A search of our electronic and paper records has been completed.

In answer to your request:

I would be grateful if you could provide the following statistics for the last three A101 Entry Cycles (2019 entry, 2018 entry, 2017 entry).

- Number of applicants that applied with GAMSAT that had reasonable adjustments (as defined by Acer)
- Number of interview invites to candidates with specific learning disabilities
- Number of offers given to candidates with specific learning disabilities
- Number of offers accepted by candidates with specific learning disabilities

The information you have asked for is not held by our Admissions Office.

To further explain, ACER provide the University with a spreadsheet of applicant’s names and their GAMSAT results. The spreadsheet does not contain any information pertaining to reasonable adjustments or disabilities. A101 states that the University of Nottingham’s GEM Admissions team cannot take extenuating circumstances into account retrospectively as they are unable to predict how this would have affected a GAMSAT score.

The School of Medicine sends a letter to all candidates who have met the criteria to be interviewed. Included in the letter is a statement to the effect that if a candidate has a disability they feel may affect their interview and they want to make the School aware of it, they should contact the School. This is to ensure that adjustments can be made for applicants with mobility issues or who are visually impaired to ensure the experience is fair to all. This information is only collected for interview preparation and is not retained once an interview has taken place. The School does not collect data on the number of applicants with specific learning disabilities invited for interview, offered a place or acceptances of offers.

If you are unhappy with the way in which your request has been handled and wish to request a review of our response or to make a complaint, please see the attached information sheet and form.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any enquiries regarding this email.

Yours sincerely,
Karen Page
