MOPAC FOI, Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime

Dear Mr Clarke

Thank you for your Freedom of Information (FOI) request of 6 February to
the Mayor's Office for Policing And Crime (MOPAC).  I confirm that your
request has been handled under the FOI Act 2000 and that MOPAC does not
hold the information you request.

The role of MOPAC is to scrutinise the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS)
and you can read more about this here:

[1]https://www.london.gov.uk/what-we-do/may...

You requested information on U.K statistics for disability hate crime.
This information is not held by MOPAC, but  you may find information on
the following website useful:

[2]https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics...

You can also search the Office for National Statistics (ONS) website,
here:

[3]https://www.ons.gov.uk/

Regarding your question as to what is being done to combat disability hate
crime, we can only answer this in respect of London.  Both MOPAC and the
MPS undertake a significant amount of stakeholder engagement with London’s
disabled communities, and their representatives, to ensure their voice is
heard in terms of the police response and how we support those subjected
to disability hate crime.  The key stakeholder organisations which are
represented at London’s policing and crime governance structures on
victims and hate crime policy include Inclusion London and HEAR.  If you
have any direct concern, you may wish to reach out to them to share your
experiences with them. They can be contacted by emailing
[4][email address]  and [5][email address
respectively.

You can read more about what is being done to tackle hate crime in London,

If you are unhappy with the response to your Freedom of Information
requests, please see the MOPAC website on what the next steps are at:

Yours sincerely
