Disability confident

The request was successful.

Dear Derbyshire County Council,

Please can I have the number of employees, departments or schools of disabled workers and details of physical, mental or long-term condition. The sickness absences relating to their disabilities.
How DCC HR supports these people to remain in employment and not be disadvantaged by political issues from government? I.e. flexi working, support for Carers, funding crisis, Reforms, Changing ways of working an enterprising council, Employment rights of protection, confidential reporting and Public sector equality duty.

Yours faithfully,

Rachel Ogilby

Dear Tracey Wall (Commissioning Communities and Policy),

Hi
Thank you for the links and a quick response. With regards to sickness absences isn’t there a box on the form which asks is this related to any disability you may have?
Sorry to ask for more detail but could I have the information converted into percentages of workforce and departments also. Restructuring can be useful to make savings but unsettling for employees, insecurity.
Flexi time policy has remained the same since 2015 that’s interesting. Never understood why it is counted in 24/42 minutes instead of 15 minutes especially with 30 minute breaks for simpler maths. Electronically clocking in and out of buildings would add it onto the systems automatically this would also improve efficiency and if travelling between DCC buildings would also save time and be safer when have visitors. Technology is useful.

Yours sincerely,

Rachel Ogilby

Hi Rachel

There is a box on the self-certification form but this is not recorded in our electronic recording system as we do not record sickness absence in relation to disability separately to other sickness absence.

Please find attached details of the percentages of employees declaring a disability.

Dear Tracey Wall (Commissioning Communities and Policy),

Hi there should be some data according to this page? I have also looked at the managers guidance 2018 which is what HR should promote about the Equality Act. Safeguarding vulnerable people.

Hi

What type of data are you looking for specifically?

show quoted sections

Dear Tracey Wall (Commissioning Communities and Policy),

Morning,
The EIA of restructuring and how DCC is meeting its public sector equality duty, I know what policies say but there should also be recorded measurable results according to the link.

Yours sincerely,

Rachel Ogilby

Tracey Wall (Commissioning Communities and Policy), Derbyshire County Council

Hi

You can contact [email address] with specific queries regarding the public sector equality duty.

There would not be a EIA on restructuring n general as every restructuring is handed individually

Dear Tracey Wall (Commissioning Communities and Policy),

Hi I did write to the team but I’ve not got the measurable data from anyone. The ethos is to support disability and people who become disabled.

Yours sincerely,

Rachel Ogilby

Dear Tracey Wall (Commissioning Communities and Policy),

Hi as it’s Autism Awareness and Diabetes prevention week can I have the number of staff and levels of training on these areas of specialism excluding schools as that probably will be recorded in individual schools rather than by HR.
If you have details of staff with their own conditions recorded particularly Autism but understand they don’t have to declare this would also be of interest.
I have still not received the measurable data.

Yours sincerely,

Rachel Ogilby

Dear Derbyshire County Council,

Dear Access 2 Info (Commissioning Communities and Policy),

Thank you for the review and apologies that it’s all on same request. I thought there was measurable data to comply with Disability Confident scheme. The link I added to show where it says this no longer works. I did email and speak to the team however not got the information about this. Ok about the EIAs.
There was then the request about levels of specialist experience for Autism and Diabetes during awareness week? As it’s Mental health week now can I ask for this also. Not sure how this would be recorded.

Yours sincerely,

Rachel Ogilby
