Disability Assessment "Medicine"?

Department for Work and Pensions did not have the information requested.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

In FOI 875 you state HCP’s are fully trained in Disability Assessment Medicine

The Oxford Dictionary defines Medicine as

i) the science or practice of the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease
ii) a drug or other preparation for the treatment or prevention of disease:
iii) (among North American Indians and some other peoples) a spell, charm, or fetish believed to have healing, protective, or other power:

As Atos HCP's do not diagnose, treat or prevent then (i) will not apply

As Atos HCP's do not make you feel better then (ii) would not apply..

That would only leave (iii)

1) Are Atos HCP's trained in spells, charms, or fetishes believed to have healing, protective, or other powers?

2) If this is not the case could you provide details and/or available evidence of the Atos/DWP claim for this unknown and unrecognised medical treatment. e.g. evidence/facts which qualifies its use of the term “medicine”...

3) Is such medicine regulated by the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Authority (MHRA) or licensed?

4) What are the possible side effects of such treatment?

Yours faithfully,

B. Adams

The ATOS qualification entitles the bearer to a medical knowledge far beyond the confines of our galaxy...

It surpasses that of a qualified surgeon or doctor and has the ability to lower DWP spending whilst depriving the claimant of a life.................
