1. An estimate of the number of registered disabled people in your area (and how this has been obtained)?
2. The current number of accessible homes in your area built since 2010?
3. An estimate of the number of accessible homes required by 2020 in your area (and how this has been calculated)?
4. The total number of people on the waiting list for accessible homes as of 1st Jan 2017?
5. The total number of accessible homes available in your area as of 1st Jan 2017?
6. How (in detail) disabled people are currently involved in your process for gathering evidence on housing need?

Yours faithfully,

Dear Leila Hamalainen,

Freedom of Information Request – FOI-17-73

Please find enclosed a response to your Freedom of Information request.

1. An estimate of the number of registered disabled people in your area (and how this has been obtained)? Blaby District Council does not hold this information. It might be held by Leicestershire County Council as the local authority responsible for social care.
2. The current number of accessible homes in your area built since 2010? Blaby District Council does not specifically monitor the number of ‘accessible homes’ built, so we do not hold this information.
3. An estimate of the number of accessible homes required by 2020 in your area (and how this has been calculated)? You may find some information on accessible homes need in a recently published document called the Leicester and Leicestershire Housing and Economic Development Needs Assessment (HEDNA). This is a publically available document online, but as it is not yet on the BDC website, I have attached the relevant files to this email.
4. The total number of people on the waiting list for accessible homes as of 1st Jan 2017? 24
5. The total number of accessible homes available in your area as of 1st Jan 2017? We do not hold this information.
6. How (in detail) disabled people are currently involved in your process for gathering evidence on housing need? Please see documents attached.
