Director-General's visit to Israel
Dear Sir or Madam,
I'd like to see the records of the meeting held in November 2005 when BBC Director-General Mark Thompson travelled to Israel to hold talks with Ariel Sharon which were apparently intended to help the BBC build bridges with the state of Israel.
I'd also like to know whether, in the interests of the putative BBC impartiality he claims to uphold, he has ever held talks with Palestinian leaders in the occupied territories or indeed anywhere else.
Yours etc.,
Michael McCarthy

Dear FOI Enquiries,
You appear to have confused my request for information about the Gaza appeal (your ref. RFI20090125) with my request for information about the BBC Director-General's visit to Israel (your ref.RFI20090117). I have received your response to the former but am still awaiting your response to the latter.
Yours sincerely,
Michael McCarthy
Dear FOI Enquiries,
The BBC is now in breach of its legal duty to respond within 20 days to my FoI request for information concerning the November 2005 visit of the Director- General to Israel. I look forward to receiving an email which deals with this matter without further delay. The email I actually received, consisting of irrelevant material relating to the Disasters Emergency Committee & Gaza issue, is not an acceptable substitute.
Yours etc.
Michael McCarthy
