Direct Payments paid v underspent / clawed back.
Dear Waltham Forest Borough Council,
I would be grateful if you would tell me - in cvs / excel format (years on line 1, questions number column 1) - broken down by quarter for the last 5 financial years, ending 31st March 2021
1. The total number of people in each quarter who were in reciept of a
Direct Payment for care services.
2. The total amount per quarter that was paid out in the form of a Direct
Payment for care.
3. The total amount per quarter recieved back to the council form
individuals following financial monitoring /due to underspend in the
Direct Payment.
4. The total amount per quarter that is reclaimed by the council directly
from prepaid card account, as a result of ongoing prepaid card monitoring
indicating an underspend in the direct payment provided.
5. The total per quarter that has been recovered from Direct Payment users
who use a third party "managed account" service (either due to a repayment
by the third party management company following monitoring, or due to
underclaiming by the third party mangagement company).
For clarity, a direct payment includes money paid to a separate "own
account", to a bank account of a family member who is managing the
person's affairs, to a third party managed account service, or to a
prepaid card account set up by the council.
Yours faithfully,
Jenny Hurst
