Direct employment of supply teachers by schools

Angela Sandles made this Freedom of Information request to Bridgend County Borough Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Bridgend County Borough Council did not have the information requested.

Dear Bridgend County Borough Council,

Please can you tell me if any of your schools employ supply teachers directly? If so can you tell me how many were on your payroll and were paid directly in the academic year 2017/2018? What was the cost of direct employment? If you do not employ any directly, can you tell me a reason for this when the Cabinet Secretary for Education says schools have a choice whether to employ directly or to use agencies.

Yours faithfully,

Angela Sandles
