Direct Debit Cancellation Email

Mark Ritchie made this Freedom of Information request to Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency

This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency,

You are sending out an email which is lying to drivers up and down the country telling them to tax their vehicles immediately when you know full well their vehicles are already taxed. That is a deliberate attempt to commit fraud as many people have fallen victim to this scam and you have not given the money back to these drivers and/ or registered keepers.

Now, despite a reprimand from the ICA over these emails and the fact that you were meant to pull the email or reword it, you have failed to comply with the ICA recommendations.

I would now like you to publish all interactions between yourselves and the ICA in relation to the matter and all the investigative notes that the DVLA complaints team, Tammie Wells in particular, have made also in relation to the same issues.

Yours faithfully,

Mark Ritchie

FOI FOI, Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency

Dear FOI,

No i am not asking for personal information. I am asking for the dialogue between yourselves and the ICA. Also, what you are doing in relation to the ICAs recommendations that you should pull that fraudulent email that you send out to every driver that cancels their direct debit demanding that they tax their vehicles immediately irrespective of whether their vehicle is taxed or not. This is fraud, especislly when you keep the money that you have obtained by deception. That is general information and not specifically about me as this applies to every driver up and down the country. They have a right to know what illegal activities you are committing.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Ritchie

Dear FOI FOI,

Wrong answer. You should have responded and handled the FOI request correctly in the first place instead of classing it as a SAR. Incompetence from your department once again.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Ritchie

Dear FOI FOI,

When is this internal review happening?

Yours sincerely,

Mark Ritchie

Dear FOI FOI,

Well? I want to know a timeframe please.

Dear Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency's handling of my FOI request 'Direct Debit Cancellation Email'.

You are duty bound to carry out an internal review. I am not prepared to accept your opinion that my request falls outside of FOI. It is impossible to even suggest that my request falls outside of FOI when what I am asking for is pertinent to every single driver in this country. I expect a full and detailed explanation if you are still not prepared to carry out an internal review.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/d...

Yours faithfully,

Mark Ritchie
