Dear Mrs Thompson,

I refer to your request for information regarding school reform, which
was received on 29th December, 2010 and has been dealt with under the
Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The specific information you requested was as follows:

"1. I am requesting a copy of Carmarthenshire Council's 'brief' which
would have been provided to Atkins Ltd as guidance for the feasibility
study for the site selection of the new secondary school to replace
Pantecelyn and Tregib Schools.

2. Please also provide the total cost of this stage of the MEP including
a breakdown of payments to Atkins ltd for the feasibility study and any
other payments to external consultancies in relation to this stage of
the programme of the Dinefwr schools reforms."

In response to your first question, I can confirm that no written
instruction or brief was given, sent or otherwise provided to Atkins
regarding the siting/selection of a new school site. As such, no such
letter (or email) exists. Instructions were communicated verbally at
meetings, however, these were not recorded or minuted.

With regard to your second question, please find attached a document
detailing costs and payments in respect of Dinefwr.
