Digitizing pre-digital-era thesis

John W. made this Freedom of Information request to University of London This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

The request was refused by University of London.

Dear University of London,

I was wondering what is the standard procedure that the University of London digitizes the pre-digital-era thesis in the library?

If the digital copy of the thesis is not found in your system, I would assume it somehow didn't get digitized through out the years, right?. Is it possible that I could provide the digital copy to you directly? If yes, to where should I send the copy to and to whom? Also, I believe there must be a process to examine the authenticity of the digital copy. How do you do it to prevent false copy being stored in your system?

stay negative and health

Yours faithfully,

John W.

Dear Records Management,

I believe there must be a misunderstanding of my request. I have no idea what you are referring to and i am not interested in any information other than what i was requesting.

The choice of wordings in your reply does not seem very friendly and is totally not what I was expecting from a reputative institute as UOL. If in any circumstances you are not allowed or was told to be quite about the possible sensitive toipcs my request accidentally implied, please reply in a way that a decent british gentleperson would do and do not treat people who has the right to request information from this platform, the true purpose and spirit of this platform, in such impolite and with a sense of guilt.

My request is simple and direct. How did/does UOL digitize the pre-digital-era thesis/documents/books/? and what is the process to examine the authenticity of the digital copy? If UOL does not have any decent process to do this, please just say so. Honesty is the best policy. There will be no harm to be honest especially as an educator

Yours sincerely,

John W.

Dear Records Management,

Again, your reply did not have the information i requested.
Please simply follow the purpose and spirit of this platform and provide the information i requested.
If UOL does not have the information i requested, please just reply you do not have it.
Replying something else AGAIN is implying UOL is hidding something.

Don't forget. you are obligated to answer my request. It's time to do the homework.

Yours sincerely,
