I am writing in respect of your recent enquiry for information held by
Selby District Council under the provisions of the FOI received on 22
February 2021.

 

I have highlighted my response to the questions you raise:

 

1.           How has the impact of COVID changed your ICT/Cloud/Digital
strategy over the last year 2020/2021?  Can you detail the changes
implemented and the changes you are planning to implement over the next 3
/6 /12 months? In February 2020, Selby District Council  implemented
Microsoft Office 365 across the workplace and this enabled us to utilise
the key tools such as Microsoft Teams for communication whilst users where
predominately based at home.

2.           What modern technologies are you looking to implement and
when over the next 3/6/12 months? Examples of modern technologies are: big
data analytics, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Virtual
Reality, Augmented Reality, Modernised Intranet/Digital Workplace/Machine
Learning/Robotics  - Selby District Council are looking to utilise the
tools that form part of the O365 suite over the coming months.

3.           What is your Cloud strategy? To move servers/applications
into the cloud over the next 5 years

4.           Where does your server infrastructure sit currently? Azure
/AWS/Google (% in Cloud/On-Premises)? On-premise

5.           How many IT users vs number of staff do you have? 220 staff

6.           How many endpoint devices and types are connected to your
network? 280 devices

7.           How do you monitor your IT network and environment? Daily
server review

8.           Do you outsource any IT Services? If so, please can you
outline the IT outsource agreements you have and when they are due for
renewal? Selby District Council work in partnership with North Yorkshire
County Council to deliver the IT Service as part of a Service Level
Agreement. The Agreement expires in 2024.

9.           Who is your go to Partner for Cloud Services assessments and
advice? Phoenix Software

10.         Who is your Microsoft Licensing Partner and when is your
licensing agreement/s due for renewal? Phoenix Software / licensing
renewal in Jan 2024

11.         Which person, in your Organisation, is responsible for your
digital transformation strategies and decisions? Chris Smith – Lead

District Council are connected by a robust VPN through Global Connect.
