Dear FOI Team,

I would be most grateful if you would provide me, under the Freedom of Information Act, details in respect to the below questions.

1. Digital Transformation Strategy - Please provide an online or PDF copy.

2. Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) System/Support. The details we require are:
2.1 Incumbent Suppliers for onsite / remote hardware & Support Maintenance Services.
2.2 Contract value.
2.3 Chosen Framework/contract (& any sub lots)
2.4 Start date & duration of contract.
2.5 End date / duration / extension option of contract

5. Smart Cities: Next Generation Customer experience
5.1 IoT – Are you implementing/planning on any of the following: Interactive Kiosks, Digital Signage, Cashless parking, Machine to Machine Telemetry, Remote Machine Monitoring
5.2 5G/ SD WAN/ Wireless WAN
5.3 What are the digital technologies your authority is planning to deploy in relation to smart cities in the next 1-3 years?
5.4 Mobility – Fleet/Vehicle & Pop-up connectivity – Do you currently use remote digital connectivity for your fleets what contracts for hardware do you have in place?
5.5 If not to above, are you planning to use in future? Please state each Department i.e. Refuse rubbish collect and analytics reporting.
5.6 COVID-19 – what plans from an IT perspective do you have for return to work – i.e. what proportion of the work force do you think will return to the office.
5.7 Branch – primary and secondary fail over in buildings/offices etc utilising 4g and 5g (5g smart cities) plus Working from Home/Home Office
5.8 COVID-19 – do they support pop up testing and vaccinations?
5.9 Branch Connectivity – what contracts in place for inbuilding networking/Wi-Fi – who provides signage and P.O.S connectivity.

I am confirming receipt and for you to note that we will provide the information (where available) within the prescribed timescales. However, due to the current environment and the pressures experienced by the NHS in Wales due to the pandemic, there is a chance that the request will take longer to respond to due to those pressures. Thank you for your request dated 11th March 2021. Following my
acknowledgement to you, I now have the following responses to your
questions as set out below. Please see the following questions and
subsequent answers as per your original request.

 

1. Digital Transformation Strategy - Please provide an online or PDF copy.
                                          

 

We do not have a separate written strategy. We do however have all this
information in the Integrated Medium Term Plan (IMTP) 2020-2023 which is
attached.

 

2. Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) System/Support. The details we require
are:

 

2.1 Incumbent Suppliers for onsite / remote hardware & Support Maintenance
Services.

 

Currently this is EPOS System Ltd. The scope of the contract is for POS
Hardware, installation, training, consumables, annual cloud licensing,
maintenance agreement.

 

2.2 Contract value.

 

The annual contract value is £16,576.

 

2.3 Chosen Framework/contract (& any sub lots)

 

2.4 Start date & duration of contract.

 

There is a rolling annual agreement in place currently up to October 2021.

 

2.5 End date / duration / extension option of contract

 

There is a rolling annual agreement in place currently up to October 2021.
Furthermore, there are plans in place to currently review the AW IT
Solution.

 

2.6 Please provide any details of any new epos related technology
deployment in 2021/22

 

Currently there is nothing planned.

 

2.7 Who is the senior officer (outside of procurement) responsible for
this contract?

 

There is no senior officer responsible for this contract outside the NHS
Wales Shared Services Partnership. The contract is managed by Procurement
Services internally.

 

3. Public Guest Wi-Fi:
                                                                                         
                                          

 

The NHS in Wales uses Sky cloud.

 

3.1 Do you have a guest Wi-Fi portal and which company manages this for
you?                    

 

Not applicable.

 

3.2 If not, are you planning to add this service and any branded content?
                                          

 

There are no plans to add this service.

 

3.3 Footfall – How do you currently measure this within town centres as
part of the Gov Funded regeneration grant.

No we do not require this service.

We have CAT5e, CAT6 & Fibre cabling.

This is a Welsh Government National Contract.

There are none to be considered.

 

5. Smart Cities: Next Generation Customer
experience                              
                                          

 

Not applicable.

The organisation is planning to deploy MS DYNAMICS / POWER BI in the next
1 to 3 years.

 

5.4 Mobility – Fleet/Vehicle & Pop-up connectivity – Do you currently use
remote digital connectivity for your fleets what contracts for hardware do
you have in place?

 

We use two types on Health Courier service fleet vehicles:

 

1.           Mobile phone; which acts as the driver PDA/Handheld device

2.           Vehicle Tracker – GPS locator which also provide vehicle
telematics, and awarded under NPS arrangements

 

5.5 If not to above, are you planning to use in future? Please state each
Department i.e. Refuse rubbish collect and analytics reporting.

 

We have not considered anything else at present.

 

5.6 COVID-19 – what plans from an IT perspective do you have for return to
work – i.e. what proportion of the work force do you think will return to
the office.

 

We have limited the office to 30% occupancy as a maximum, this complies to
the 2m safe distance guidelines within Wales.

 

5.7 Branch – primary and secondary fail over in buildings/offices etc
utilising 4g and 5g (5g smart cities) plus Working from Home/Home Office

 

We don’t use 4g or 5g All wireless set by Sky / BT Public Cloud.

 

5.8 COVID-19 – do they support pop up testing and vaccinations?

 

Not applicable to NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership as we are a
centralised support organisation not rolling out patient services for
covid19.

 

5.9 Branch Connectivity – what contracts in place for inbuilding
networking/Wi-Fi – who provides signage and P.O.S connectivity.

 

No external contracts, all done through Welsh Government / NHS Wales
