The request was partially successful.

Yohanna Anderson

Dear Department for Education,

The (then) Higher Education Minister, Michelle Donelan was scheduled to

"meet with publishing sector and other stakeholders to discuss ebook licensing practices" on 11th July 2022. The meeting was cancelled due to the resignation of Boris Johnson.

I would like to know

a) who was invited to the meeting

b) the content of any communication about the meeting that made reference to the campaign group #ebooksos , including meeting minutes, emails or reports.

I look forward to your response

Yours faithfully,

Yohanna Anderson

Dear Yohanna Anderson,

Please find attached an update on your recent FOI request.

HE BRIEFING TEAM

Dom,

I am a bit surprised and frustrated to see your name on the (late) not-response since it was you who told us to do an FOI when, clearly, you could have just answered us. Why the obfuscation?
Please ensure our request is answered promptly and in full

Yours sincerely,

Dear Department for Education,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department for Education's handling of my FOI request 'DfE ebook stakeholder meeting'.

By law this should have been responded to by 17th August. The person who is supposed to be answering this is the person who told me to submit the FOI in the first place after refusing to answer my questions. I am starting to feel there is some obfuscation going on

Please investigate

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/d...

Yours faithfully,

Yohanna Anderson

Higher Education Briefing Team

Dear ACCOUNT, Unmonitored,
> Dear DfE,
you have shared personal emails of people in an email thread with us without their permission. It is an odd decision to provide us with emails we were party to already from our own supporters and yet exclude any from within the DfE that referred to us. You redacted details of the people communicating within and with DfE about #ebooksos but did not afford the individuals who were not communicating in any official capacity the same courtesy. You included conversations between individuals that you had no permission to. Surely it is a data breach on your behalf?
When I raised this concern with you, you sent me a direct email saying the fault is mine as I chose to ask the question via a public website. This is a worrying response as, regardless of where the enquiry is made, it does not negate your data protection responsibilities,. I have used WDTK many times and I have never had an authority post unrelated personal email conversations here.
Please respond fully.

Yohanna Anderson
