Devolution County Deal
Dear Nottinghamshire County Council,
I would be grateful if you would forward to me all copies of correspondence between the Government and NCC from May 2020 with regards to Devolution County Deal. This will include correspondence between any members, any officers and any government officials either elected or non elected with the authority.
Would you please send to me copies of notes/minutes of all meetings either formal or informal with regards to the same subject. Please include member to member discussions, officer to officer discussions, officer member discussions and any discussions with any government officials I.E. all discussions.
I would be grateful if on this occasion you would answer my request and not refuse by saying you do not hold the information. Please do not be pedantic because under any wording I know and so does the wider public there have been discussions about lifting responsibilities from District Councils to the County Council.
I look forward to your positive response.
Yours faithfully,
Gail Turner
Honorary Alderwoman

Dear Gail Turner,
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 – REQUEST FOR INFORMATION REFERENCE
FOI/420
Thank you for your request for information relating to Freedom of
Information request - Devolution County Deal.
We are now able to provide the following information:
Please see attached documents.
In Nottingham and Nottinghamshire’s endeavours to secure a devolution
deal, to benefit all of our communities, there has been a commitment to
joint working between all Local Authorities, through the Joint Economic
Prosperity Committee, on which all Council Leaders are members. Indeed,
the principles agreed at the outset included a commitment to Inclusive
membership of all local councils.
Some information contained in the attached documents has been withheld
under Section 41 - FOIA -
This documentation has been provided to the Council in confidence
therefore we have carried out a public interest test to decide whether the
arguments to support the disclosure of this information outweigh the
arguments against disclosure.
Following consideration of the public interest test we have concluded that
the release of this document into the public domain would likely damage
the relationship of confidence between the Council and its author. And so
we consider that to release this is not in the best interest of the
public. We are therefore exempting disclosure of this analysis under
Section 41 of the freedom of Information Act – Information Provided in
Confidence
We have also redacted names of individuals under Section 40 (2) - Personal
Information.
We trust this now satisfies your request and that you find this
information to be helpful, however if you are unhappy with the way in
which your request has been handled, then please email us at
[Nottinghamshire County Council request email] quoting the reference FOI/420 and we will be happy to
review your request
For future reference, Nottinghamshire County Council regularly publishes
previous FOI requests and answers on its website, under Disclosure logs,
that may provide details relating to your query. (see link)
