Kevin Jenner, Department for Transport

William

Thank you for this request, which we have been considering.

However, we must seek clarification on a fundamental point. The Department for Transport (DfT) is not a direct successor to DETR, as DETR became DTLR (Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions) first before becoming DfT in 2002.

Would you therefore please confirm that you wish us to work on the basis that the DETR references in your request should actually read DTLR?

We are also assuming that you are only referring to the Central part of DfT, as the Agencies would not have been largely affected by these central charges.

I should perhaps also point out that, whilst we will look for the information requested, some of it falls outside the normal retention period for this type of documentation (5 years).

Many thanks

Kevin

Regarding my e-mail below, "charges" should of course read "changes"!

Thanks

Dear Kevin Jenner,

Thank you for the clarification: I will raise a separate request for information on the DTLR transfer, please consider this one to be the DETR to DTLR transfer (surely someone should still have some records?!)

I can confirm that i would like to restrict the request to the main department only.

Yours sincerely,

William Olde
