Detention FRs

The request was refused by Home Office.

Dear Home Office,

Thank you for providing the number of trafficking victims who were subject to returns between 2016 - 2018 according to first responder (case ref 55077).

Please provide the first responder in each instance of the detention of potential and recognised trafficking victims from January 1st 2016 - December 31st 2018. Please name the responder rather than type of responder (e.g. "West Mids Police" rather than "police").

Please provide the data disaggregated by year, first responder, and the last NRM decision (eg. positive Reasonable Grounds, positive Conclusive Grounds, withdrawn etc). Please note that the time limit stipulated should correspond with the period in detention rather than the period of NRM decision-making.

Yours faithfully,
M Esslemont

Dear FOI Requests,

Please note that my request for the the first responders attached to instances of detention amongst recognised trafficking victims (case ref 56594) is now delayed by 6 months. Rather than lodging this with the ICO, I would like to submit a fresh request for more timely data as the delay has rendered the original request out-of-date. I understand this will take 20 working days to provide.

Please disregard case ref 56594 and replace the request with the following for my records:

"Please provide the first responder in each instance of the detention of potential and recognised trafficking victims from January 1st 2016 - December 31st 2019. Please name the responder rather than type of responder (e.g. "West Mids Police" rather than "police").

Please provide the data disaggregated by year, first responder, and the last NRM decision (eg. positive Reasonable Grounds, positive Conclusive Grounds, withdrawn etc). Please note that the time limit stipulated should correspond with the period in detention rather than the period of NRM decision-making.""

Kind regards,
M Esslemont

Dear Home Office,

Please pass this to the staff member responsible for Internal Reviews. I wish to request an IR, due to a month-long delay in responding to the FOI request 'Detention FRs', submitted on 3 June 2020. A case reference was never provided, but acknowledgment was also granted on 3 June 2020.

Please note that upon the disclosure of this data, the associated ICO complaint will be withdrawn.

Dear Home Office,

Please note that the team did, kindly, provide information on Immigration Detention in February 2020. This data request was for total figures of detention amonst potential victims, disagregated by year and for the time period 2016-present. The full thread can be viewed here for ease: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/n...

However, in the case of FOI entitled 'Detention FRs', the names of 'First Responders' in cases of detention was requested. This is a seperate request, for which no case reference number was issued. This request can be viewed here: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/d...
On 3 June 2020, I asked for the original request to be ammended in the absence of a reply for 6 months, acknowledging that it would take 20 working days from 3 June 2020 before the new request could be addressed. I have still not recieved this requested data, or confirmation that the original, ignored, request has been recognised with a time complaint.
It is in relation to the latter request that I have asked for a time complaint to be raised within the Home Office, and complained to the ICO.

Yours faithfully,
M Esslemont
