details regarding the proposed closure of Otters Retreat Respite Cebtre

The request was successful.

Dear Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust,

In the minutes of your Board of Directors Meeting on the 5th February 2014, it is stated that the trust are proceeding with the closure of Otters Retreat. I would like to know the following:

Has a final decision on closure been confirmed?

How was this decision reached and can you provide details of supporting evidence used when making this decision.

Why have the parents not been consulted to date regarding the proposed closure?

What will be implemented to meet the ongoing needs of the children who currently use Otters, should the proposed closure go ahead?

What are the details of the time frame from the final decision being made and the closure?

What are the details of the time frames for transitions to new services to meet the children's needs

Lastly, are there plans to reduce the allocated amount of respite hours the nine families are already in receipt of and if so, what are the details of these plans?

Yours faithfully,

Helen Lallyette
(Mother of one of the nine children to whom Otters is a lifeline)
