Details on involvement / advice offered in relation to the 2009 NICS Equal Pay settlement.
Dear Equality Commission for Northern Ireland,
Can you please confirm whether or not you offered to or were approached for advice by either the Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS), the Department of Finance & Personnel (DFP) or the Northern Ireland Public Service Alliance (NIPSA) union or any of their representatives (in any capacity) in relation to and in advance of the signing off of the Equal Pay settlement which was agreed between those parties in 2009.
Can you please also confirm if any such contacts have taken place since 2009 on this same matter.
If so, in relation to either question, then please provide copies of any communications between all and any parties involved.
Yours faithfully
Aodhan Flynn

Dear Mr Flynn
I refer to your Freedom of Information request sent by email dated 2
October 2012.
The Equality Commission did not offer, nor were we approached for advice
by NICS, DFP or NIPSA or any of their representatives in relation to and
in advance of the signing off of the Equal Pay settlement which was agreed
between those parties in 2009.
Commission staff met with representatives of DFP on 24 September 2010 in
relation to the progress of the Equal Pay review and I attach hereto
scanned notes of that meeting. I also attach a scanned email from DFP to
the Commission dated 5 May 2011 in relation to the Gateway Health Check
enclosing the terms of reference. A meeting then took place on 12 May 2011
but there are no notes of that meeting.
There has been no other communication with the parties regarding the Equal
Pay settlement.
Yours sincerely
Eoin O’Neill
