Details of planning permission for ANPR cameras at Manningtree Station

Dear Tendring District Council,

A new regime of parking enforcement has been initiated at Manningtree Station. As part of that new regime Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras have been installed on the approach road to Manningtree Station by National Car Parks (NCP) &/or Greater Anglia. Please provide details of Planning Permission submitted for these cameras & the decision of the Council.

Dear Mr Baker,

 

Further to your FOI request regarding details of planning permission for
ANPR cameras at Manningtree Station, which was received on 11/03/19,
please be advised that after checking with the Council’s Planning
Services, a Planning Application for the installation of ANPR cameras at
Manningtree Station was not received.

 

I hope this information is of assistance to you. However if you feel that
the Council have failed to deal with your request for information
correctly you can request that the matter is reviewed in accordance with
the Authority's Complaints Procedure. Requests for internal reviews should
be sent to Mrs L Trembath, Corporate Services, Town Hall, Station Road,
Clacton-on-Sea, Essex CO15 1SE.  Further details of this procedure can be
obtained from all Council offices or from our website

It is likely that TDC will claim that there is no requirement for planning consent for ANPR cameras. It should be noted however that there IS a requirement for advertising consent for the signs required ro tell people that there are ANPR cameras being used.
