Dear Cambridgeshire Police and Crime Commissioner,

The latest publication of the commissioner's spending information contains an entry showing £27,029.00 was spent on 14/08/2013 described as "Legal Fees - Civil" "Police AuthorityMembers".

Could you please release the invoice relating to that payment and if not self-explainatory, any further information held explaining the reason for that payment.

Dear Mr Taylor

In reply to your request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, dated October 14, 2013 below.

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (The Act) requires us to handle all requests in a manner that is blind to the identity of the requestor. Any information released in response to a request is regarded as being published, and therefore in the public domain without caveat.

I can confirm that the Office of the Cambridgeshire Police and Crime Commissioner does not hold this information. However Cambridgeshire Constabulary, which is a separate organisation and is treated as such under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, may hold this information.

To aid your understanding, this cost was added to the Commissioner's list of payments over £500 but should in fact have appeared on the Constabulary's list. Our subsequent enquiries made on the basis of the receipt of your Freedom of Information request reveal that it was in relation to legal fees incurred jointly by the constabularies of Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire in relation to collaboration.

If you are unhappy with this response, please see the attachment, which sets out your rights to appeal.

Kind regards
