Details of LBN Developing Diverse Leaders Programme
Dear Newham Borough Council,
I would like to submit the following Freedom of Information request:
Could the London Borough of Newham please provide details of your Newham Developing Diverse Leaders Programme 2023/2024 (PDF or HTML Files). This should include copies of all communications to LBN employees/staff of details of either the DDL programme or details about the training opportunity sent to LBN employees/staff (incl. presentation documents) to date.
Please note the request does not relate to details of the actual DDL course content but specifically to whether the London Borough of Newham provides training opportunities to employees/staff that either exclude employees/staff with certain protected characteristics under the Equalities Act 2010 (or a combination of protected characteristics) and/or discourage employees from accessing the Developing Diverse Leaders training/programme based on the EA2010 protected characteristics (or a combination of those characteristics).
Yours faithfully,
Bernard Walldren

Dear London Borough of Newham,
Thank you for your initial response. However the following attachments mentioned in your response appear to be missing from your response e-mail or for some reason haven't been received on this end.
Therefore could I request for the FOI response to be sent again but ensuring that the following is attached within a PDF Document.
see attachment ‘DDL Comms – Intranet Screen Shot’.
and
see attached ‘Developing Diverse Leaders Programme – Information Session’
Additionally, considering this is a Statutory FOI and could potentially be used in some form of legal proceedings, there is a sentence in your response that does not seem to make sense and appears to be grammatically incorrect:
" Ready to step into and be equipped with tools and techniques enabling
participants to success in those roles and/or work experience opportunities"
LBN are welcome to amend this sentence if required when resending the FOI response with the PDF attachments.
It would be really helpful if the London Borough of Newham could define in your response what the organisation defines as NOT "colleagues from ethnically diverse backgrounds
or other underrepresented groups". Which employees within the pay grade mentioned in your response, do not qualify as either an employee from "ethnically diverse backgrounds " or are NOT from "underrepresented groups".
Yours sincerely,
Bernard Walldren
