Dear UOD - FOI,

1 IP Extensions
Definition
If the current telephone system is Voice over Internet Protocol then it will offer:
Analogue Extensions
Digital Extensions.
VoIP Extensions. These are devices connected to your LAN and not directly wired to the desk as per Analogue and Digital. They will be Power over Ethernet handsets or IP Handsets.
2 Screen Based Consoles
Software is loaded onto a PC providing enhanced call processing for the Operator. For example there might be 50 icons on the screen each with an extension number. Some SBC do not require a handset and some do. If there is a handset it usually has a headset.

Yours sincerely,

Michael Harrison
