2.      Where the copyright is owned by Oadby and Wigston Borough
Council, re-use is permitted in accordance with the terms of the [1]Open
Government Licence.  However, we do ask that you attribute the
information to Oadby and Wigston Borough Council when re-using it.

3.      Where third party copyright is identified, you will need to
contact the copyright owner directly should you wish to re-use their
information.

Our Response (including your original request):
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would like to request a list of your current contracts with suppliers

a voluntary or community sector organisation and where it is, provide
the relevant registration number.

Oadby & Wigston Borough Council does not currently hold a contracts
register as described above and the compilation of one would be hugely
time consuming and therefore I have estimated that the cost of
processing your request exceeds our appropriate limit. The limit is
specified in regulations and for Oadby & Wigston Borough Council this is
set at £450.00. The amount represents the estimated cost of one person
spending two and a half working days determining whether the Council
holds the relevant information.

In this instance, locating, retrieving and extracting the specified data
would be labour intensive. Consequently, we are not obliged under the
Freedom of Information Act 2000 to respond to your request unless we
receive the fee set out in this notice. The charge has been calculated
in accordance with Section 13 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and
the Freedom of Information Fees Regulations.

If you were to resubmit your request having narrowed the scope of your
enquiry, the Council may be able to provide the information free of
charge; this would be subject to a review. If the Council feels that
your reformulated request is within our appropriate limit it would be
logged onto our systems and treated as a fresh Freedom of Information
request.
+------------------------------------------------------------------------+

Should you be unhappy with the way your request has been handled, you can
ask for an internal review by emailing [2][email address].
The Compliance Officer will then arrange a review of your case.

If you are not happy with the outcome of any internal review, you have the
right to apply directly to the [3]Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
for a decision. Further information is available by clicking on the link.

If you have any queries about this email, please contact us quoting the

Dear Oadby and Wigston Borough Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Oadby and Wigston Borough Council's handling of my FOI request 'Details of contracts over £5,000'.

You confirmed that you did not hold the data I requested on contracts with suppliers worth over £5,000 and that it would cost too much to provide this data.

However, there is a legal requirement to publish this data, so this should be part of your current workload and not necessitate any further cost:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicatio....

Therefore, I believe my request was mishandled.

I await your response within 20 working days.

Yours faithfully,

Helen McNally
