Our response:

We publish a contracts register via the [2]Kent Business Portal, the
Canterbury register can be found by selection Canterbury City Council from
the organisations [3]drop down menu.  We advertise contract spends over
£100,000, which is in line with the Council's contracting standing
orders.  However, lower value spends as recorded by individual departments
would take a period of time to recover in excess of the reasonable costs
limit set out under Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act, which
sets the limit at £450 or 18 hours officer time to identify, locate and
extract the information required to respond due to the manner in which
this information is stored.  You may wish to note, however, that
Canterbury City Council publish information relating to all spends over
£500 on our website and this is done so in line with government
transparency code.  This information can be found here;

It should also be noted that all VAT on expenditure is recovered.
