Dear Richard McMillan

Thank you for your recent Freedom of Information request. You have
requested several pieces of information and I will deal with each request
in turn.

1. Any agreements, contracts or understandings between the National
Gallery (NG) and the National Gallery Company (NGC) with regard to
reproductions.

I am attaching a pdf of the relevant agreement. If you would prefer a
hard copy, please provide me with your postal address and I will arrange
for a copy to be sent to you.

2. A detailed breakdown of charges made or payments made to the NGC by the
NG for reproductions as specified in the corporate financial plan 2009.
(covering 2008/2009)

The Corporate Plan 2009 refers to budgeted operating income in the form of
payments for reproductions from the National Gallery Company to the
National Gallery, not vice versa. I am therefore attaching a spreadsheet
containing a breakdown of actual payments made to the National Gallery by
the Company during the period specified.

3. Any list or schedule of costs or charges associated with reproductions
that you hold.

The National Gallery does not hold this information. Such charges are the
responsibility of the National Gallery Company, which is owned by the
National Gallery Trust. The National Gallery Company is not a public
authority nor owned by one and is therefore not subject to Freedom of
Information legislation. However, if you would like to pursue the matter
directly with them, they can be contacted at St. Vincent House, 30 Orange
Street, London, WC2H 7HH.

If you are unhappy with the way the National Gallery has handled your
request you may ask for an internal review, by writing to: Susan Foister,
Director of Collections, The National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, London,
WC2N 5DN.

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have
the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a
decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: Information
Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9
5AF.

If you have any queries about this email, please do not hesitate to
contact me.

Yours sincerely

Alan Crookham
