Designated specialist schools and their budgets
Dear Leicester City Council,
For secondary maintained schools which previously had designated specialist statuses (such as performing arts/science/sports) was the extra funding they received ring-fenced (ie it could only be statutorily used for these activities) or were the schools able to spend this money as they saw fit.
If the school did not spend this money (eg 6 years ago) could it keep the money and carry it over in its budget to be used 6 years later?
Yours faithfully,
Karen O'Neill
