Designated cemetery areas for cremated remains graves

Pearl Clow made this Freedom of Information request to Durham Police and Crime Panel Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Durham Police and Crime Panel should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Durham Police and Crime Panel,

Please advise if the deliberate and >UNAUTHORISED< removal of cremated remains, from a designated cremated remains grave area, situated in a cemetery, (on consecrated ground) , is a criminal act, and should be reported to the local police.
The cremated remains were legally interred three years ago and were completely removed, without permission, by two members of cemetery staff.
Thank you.
Pearl Clow.

Durham County Council,
