Dept of Health NI child sexaul abuse reports held?

The request was successful.

Dear Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety (Northern Ireland),

Please could you outline what reports the department holds on Child Sexual Abuse from 1970 to the present

Yours faithfully,

Cathy Fox

McCullough, Joy,

Cathy,
Can you please clarify your request re reports on Child Sexual Abuse from 1970 to date.

The Department has for example guidance on 'Co-operating to Safeguard Children', and 'Tackling sexual violence and abuse' Strategy and Action Plans which are on the DHSSPS website.

In addition we hold reports from NSPCC on for example 'How safe are our children'.

Dear Joy,

Thank you for your reply. I should have been clearer. This was a request for advice and assistance under section 16 ,FOI Act 2000 before I propose to make a request recorded information, which will depend naturally on what information I receive.
FOI Act 2000 s 16 (1)It shall be the duty of a public authority to provide advice and assistance, so far as it would be reasonable to expect the authority to do so, to persons who propose to make, or have made, requests for information to it.

By "reports on child sexual abuse" I meant relatively in depth Reports or Papers commissioned or authored to report on a potential or perceived problem of child sexual abuse in Northern Ireland, or in a childrens home, or in an council/authority area etc
I was hoping not to have to be too specific until I had received some advice and assistance about what records might be kept, how they are catalogued or classified, how many are electronic records
or when electronic records came in.
Please get back to me if you think I need to focus further and if possible give me some parameters I could do this by.
The examples you gave are useful and I will look through them, and any others like that I would like to know but I was more thinking of the Reports as i described above.

Kind Regards,

Cathy Fox

Yours sincerely,

Redmond, Maire,

Ms Fox

I refer to your previous request for a copy of the Hughes Report of the
Inquiry into Children's Homes and Hostels and your recent request for
advice as to who owns the copyright.  We have now sought further advice
and have been advised that “Copyright does not prevent information being
disclosed under the Freedom of Information Act”.  As such we will copy the
report you requested and send it to you in hard copy,  Can you therefore
please forward your mailing address.

I must advise you however that “copyright will still apply to the
information once it has been disclosed under the Freedom of Information
Act (FOIA) and that the person who receives the information under FOIA is
still obliged, by law, to respect the rights of the copyright owner. If
they do not, the copyright owner can seek damages or an injunction in the
same way as they could for any infringement of copyright
