Undergraduate Dentistry in the following years: 2020, 2021 and 2022.

1) For each year, what was the number of total applicants, number of
interviews, offers given and total spaces?

2) What is the average UCAT score of those given an interview each year?
As there is no cut off score for applying, what was the threshold for
interview in each year?

3) How are applicants selected for interview? Is there a scoring/ranking
system?

1. UCAT Total Score data is shown where held
and only includes tests undertaken in the
year of application.
2. In 2021/2 there was no intake due to the
Covid-19 pandemic - offers-related UCAT data
is suppressed for data protection purposes.

With regards to the selection process  the University combines an Academic
Score (based on certified and predicted grades and contextual factors) and
UCAT score. These scores were weighted 60:40 Academic : UCAT for
non-graduates and 40:60 Academic : UCAT for graduates. We use the UCAT
score by categorising the applicants in deciles of UCAT performance. More
information about the UCAT can be found at
[1]https://www.ucat.ac.uk/. GCSE results and predicted grades are scored
and together make up 60% of the initial assessment stage for school
leavers.   UCAT accounts for the other 40%.  The personal statement is not
assessed at the pre-interview stage.  Only the combined academic and UCAT
scores, together with any contextual factors, determine who gets invited
to interview.   At the interview, the personal statement is used as a
basis for discussion at one or more of the stations, it is not formally
assessed.
