Dentistry A200 admissions inquiry
Dear Cardiff University,
I would be grateful to you if you could provide to me some further inquiries regarding the admissions data for the Dentistry A200 course. Specifically:
1. Is it possible for you to provide the ucat average or cutoff scores for the entries 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021?
2. Can you accept a band 4 in the SJT and how many people achieved such a band between the entry years 2018-2021?
3. How many applications do you receive from graduates and how many offers do you give to them at the end during the entry years 2018-2021?
Thanks a lot for your reply.
Yours faithfully,
Sarlize Cha.

Dear Sarlize Cha
I am writing in response to your Freedom of Information request dated 11
September 2021.
For ease of reference, I have reproduced your question(s) below and set
out our corresponding response(s).
I would be grateful to you if you could provide to me some further
inquiries regarding the admissions data for the Dentistry A200 course.
Specifically:
1. Is it possible for you to provide the ucat average or cutoff scores for
the entries 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021?
Average UCAT score
2021 2482
2020 2495
2019 2486
2018 2419
Please note that this is the average UCAT score for applications received
for Dentistry and is not a ‘cut off’ score as we do not use one.
2. Can you accept a band 4 in the SJT and how many people achieved such a
band between the entry years 2018-2021?
We do accept a band 4 in the SJT. Please see the stats below for those
applicants who applied with a band 4.
SJT Band SJT Band received MMI
2021 75 2
2020 76 0
2019 27 2
2018 40 1
3. How many applications do you receive from graduates and how many offers
do you give to them at the end during the entry years 2018-2021?
Cardiff University does not gather this information and does not have a
specific intake number for graduates.
