Denbighshire County Councils documentation relating to the 'sale' and or lease of Prestatyn Youth Centre, Dawson Drive?

The request was partially successful.

Dear Denbighshire County Council,

Please pass this on to whom it may concern.

Under the F.O.I.A. Could I simply request of Denbighshire County Councils documentation relating to the 'sale' and or lease of Prestatyn Youth Centre, Dawson Drive?

With reference to an 'old' article on social media...

YOUTH CLUB SOLD FOR ONE PENNY!!!

'In a SECRET DEAL supported by our Prestatyn and Meliden County Councillors, our Youth Club has been sold, as reported to us, to the Welsh Language Society.
We understand that several local youth supporting groups HAD contacted our Councillors, including Cllrs Sandilands, Duffy, McLellan and Penlington, all four claiming to be "so called" supporters of local youth --sadly the wishes of the community is ignored yet again by OUR Councillors -- and an ASSET of the town is given away.'

To be expressed as:-

1) Simply a print out (.pdf) of the original documentation relating to any 'lease' or other financial arrangement with either Popeth Cymraeg or any involved party?

Yours sincerely

FOI Response 2225

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Mr Bourne,

Thank you for your request for information received 24/04/2017 concerning
PRESTATYN YOUTH CENTRE. Please see below:
Denbighshire County Council did explore options to work with Popeth
Cymraeg / Welsh Unlimited and develop Prestatyn Youth Centre into a Youth
and Learning Centre but unfortunately we were unsuccessful in securing
funding to make all the necessary adaptations and improvements to the
building. At no point was youth provision under threat. In fact the offer
would have been improved for young people as a result of the partnership.

Prestatyn Youth Centre remains a Denbighshire County Council asset. The
centre is used extensively to deliver youth work as well as accommodating
a number of community groups including adult Welsh language classes
delivered by Popeth Cymraeg / Welsh Unlimited.

If I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact
me.
If you have any queries regarding this response, please do not hesitate to
contact me at the following address: Access to Information Officer,
Corporate Information Management Team, PO BOX 62, Wynnstay Road, Ruthin,

handled your request and wish to ask for internal review, please contact
the Corporate Information Manager at the same address. If you are
subsequently not content with the outcome of the review, you have the

House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
