The request is waiting for clarification. If you are Nigel Burke, please sign in to send a follow up message.

Dear Denbighshire Council,

Please supply information regarding CCTV expansion plans and success rates of existing cctv systems in the Denbigh area.
In particular, any information regarding statements made by Cllr Mark Young, Denbighshire County Council’s lead member for Community Safety and vice chair of the Safer Communities Board, about the success of systems in use.

Cllr Young is quoted as saying “Affordable high-quality CCTV has proved invaluable in other Denbighshire towns and areas and to see the statistics as to how much crime they help detect and prevent is amazing.”

I would be very grateful if you can provide
1) The statistics the Cllr talks about, proving how much crime they ( Existing CCTV systems in other Denbighshire towns and areas), help detect and prevent and
2) The crime rates in the same areas before the systems were put into place.
And
3) The cost of the purchase, ongoing maintenance, and the overseeing of the same systems, including the length of time they have been operating.

Yours faithfully,
Nigel Burke.

Denbighshire Council

Dear Nigel Burke,

Thank you for your recent request for information held by Denbighshire
County Council received 04/12/2018 regarding CCTV IN DENBIGH. Please note
that Questions 1 and 2 should be directed to the North Wales Police as we
do not hold the information.

Unfortunately we are currently unable to respond to your request as we
have insufficient detail from you to identify the information you require.
In order for us to be able to proceed with your request for information I
would be grateful if you could clarify the following points:

With regard to Question 3: ) The cost of the purchase, ongoing
maintenance, and the overseeing of the same systems, including the length
of time they have been operating:

·         are you able to provide a time frame for the request?

·         Are you able to indicate what you include in the costs
information you are requesting? The system includes equipment – cameras,
servers and other hardware – and networks and maintenance contracts. Are
you asking about every set up cost and date for every piece of equipment?
We would not hold much of the information and other information may be
out of date and therefore  inaccurate. We have final and projected figures
in terms of budget for years of the partnership.

Upon receipt of this additional detail I will then search for the
information to which you may be entitled under the Freedom of Information
Act 2000.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for further advice or guidance
relating to the above.

Yours sincerely
