Dear NHS Blood and Transplant,

I would like to know the quantities of red cells, platelets, and plasma stock which were held at each of the following hospitals during a typical month. Please can you also report the used products and wastage quantities of these products in the same period.

Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Princess Elizabeth
Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth
Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester

I understand you may not have the data for the private or Channel Isles hospitals so these can be excluded if not available.

This is to support a research study, thus your help is greatly appreciated

Dear A Oakey

Thank you for recent Freedom of Information (FOI) request dated 2^nd March
2020.  After reviewing your request, I am afraid we will need further
clarification.

NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) is a Special Health Authority reporting
to the Department of Health and Social Care. Its remit includes the
provision of a reliable, efficient supply of blood and associated services
to the NHS in England.

NHSBT Is not routinely notified by hospitals when or how blood we supply
them has been used.  Can I therefore ask you to clarify what information
you are expecting to receive from us as this request appears to relate to
the individual hospitals/trust.

Unfortunately we are unable to proceed with your request until we receive
this clarification. Once this information is received, the 20 working days
to respond will start again.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely

Dear Customer Services,

Thanks for your response. Based on what data you are saying is available I do agree that this is not something that you are able to provide and is a matter for the individual trusts.

Thanks for your help anyway

Yours sincerely,

A Oakey
