Delayed transfers of care (DTOC)

We're waiting for J Allen to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust,

Could the authority state how they use agencies and/or software to expedite the discharge of DTOC patients?
How much did they spend with agencies to arrange placements with care homes or home care for DTOC patients in each of the last three financial years?
Do they use Capacity Tracker or any other software of services to identify care homes or home care packages? Please state which software or services are used.

Yours faithfully,

J Allen

Dear J Allen

Thank you for submitting a request for information under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000.  Please find the response below in red font. This
response covers the hospitals and services managed by the Royal Free
London NHS Foundation Trust, namely the Royal Free Hospital, Barnet
Hospital and Chase Farm Hospital and associated group services.

Your question

Could the authority state how they use agencies and/or software to
expedite the discharge of DTOC patients?

How much did they spend with agencies to arrange placements with care
homes or home care for DTOC patients in each of the last three financial
years?

Do they use Capacity Tracker or any other software of services to identify
care homes or home care packages? Please state which software or services
are used.

The response

Funding and arrangements for expediting delayed transfers of care (DTOC)
are led by Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), who will be in a better
position to respond to this request.  The trust does not use capacity
tracker or any other software to identify care homes or home care
packages.  The trust uses the services of CHS Healthcare at Barnet
Hospital, which provides support for self-funding families to find
suitable care homes for patients, however the trust does not pay for this
service.

The following CCGs are relevant to our trust - Barnet CCG, Enfield CCG,
Camden CCG, Haringey CCG, Islington CCG and Herts Valley CCG.

For Camden CCG, Barnet CCG, Enfield CCG, Haringey CCG, Islington CCG
please contact North Central London Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs)
