Dear Mr Hodson

Further to your request for information please see the response below.
This response covers the hospitals and services managed by the Royal Free
London NHS Foundation Trust, namely the Royal Free Hospital, Barnet
Hospital and Chase Farm Hospital and associated group services.

Your questions

- the earliest date on which the Trust was informed that DeepMind Health
(and thus Streams) was to join Google, as per
[1]https://deepmind.com/blog/scaling-stream...

- a copy of all "material decisions" made by the Project Governance Board,
as per the Trust's Services Agreement with DeepMind Technologies Limited

- a copy of all "material decisions" made by the Information Governance
Board that oversees IG aspects of the same relationship

The response

The Royal Free was informed in writing by DeepMind Health of the proposal
to join Google on 16 November 2018. Directors of the trust were provided
with advance notice of this by telephone over the weekend of 10/11
November 2018.

The Royal Free and DeepMind have a “Technology Project Board” which
performs the role of both the “Information Governance Board” (as per the
Information Processing Agreement with DeepMind) and the “Project
Governance Board” (as per the Services Agreement with DeepMind). An
extract of all material decisions by the Technology Project Board is
attached. As you will see these decisions do not address the proposal for
DeepMind Health to join Google as the Royal Free was only recently
informed of that proposal.  Names have been redacted in line with section
40 (personal information) of the Freedom of Information Act.
