Decision of Police Pension Authority relating to Injury Awards

Avon and Somerset Constabulary did not have the information requested.

Dear Avon and Somerset Constabulary,

This is a follow up request related to your answer in [FOI #310297 email] Date 09 February 2016
You answered that you follow NAMF guidance and so you believe it is for the PPA to decide whether any identified change in the degree of disablement represents a substantial alteration.

The Home Office contract concerning the Provision of Regional Boards of Medical Referees (PMABs) states that the purpose of the boards is to consider appeals from police officers or former police officers who are dissatisfied with a decision made by a medical practitioner.

Therefore if your force has a policy document, or any other form of document or documents, setting out the procedure of defending the PPA's decision at a Police Medical Appeals Board, when the PPA has made the decision and not the medical practitioner, please supply a copy.

Yours faithfully,

Kristina Jessick

Please can you respond to my request as a matter or urgency given the 20 days have elapsed. I trust there is a reasonable reason why your answer has been delayed.
