Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for your e-mail dated 29 October 2016 where you requested
information regarding Debt and Court Statistics.

From our preliminary assessment, it is clear that the Finance Service will
not be able to answer your request.  The Finance Service does not hold the
information in the format you have requested.

In order to provide you with the information on the scale that you have
requested would require that 1,080 reports would have to be run from the
Finance system.  The information you have requested is not routinely
extracted from the system, therefore, this data would have to be extracted
from the reports and then recorded in spreadsheet format.

Under Section 12(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 the Council is
not obliged to comply with a request for information if the Council
estimates that the cost of complying with the request would exceed the
appropriate limit.  I am advised by the Service Area that to extract the
information that you have requested from other information held on the
Finance system, by this Council, would exceed the appropriate limit of
£450 (18 hours at £25.00) for this Council, as calculated by the Freedom
of Information and Data Protection (Appropriate Limit and Fees)
Regulations 2004.

The Service Area estimates that it will take in excess of 18 hours/2.5
working days to extract the information and produce a report with the
relevant data you have requested, therefore, your request will not be
processed further.

However, you may wish to refine your request by narrowing its scope.  The
Service Area has advised that the data could be provided for the last 3
years, as at the end of each financial year.  This information could be
extracted from the end of year financial reports.  Please let me know if
this would be acceptable.

If you are dissatisfied with the response given to your request, you are
entitled to request an internal review.  Please contact
[2][email address], within 2 months of receiving the Council’s
response, if you require an internal review of your case.

If you remain dissatisfied with the outcome of the internal review, you
have the right to appeal to the Information Commissioner at:

Please remember to quote the reference number above in any future
