DBS information

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please would it be possible, under the Freedom of Information Act, to have the following information:

1. Who is your lead officer for DBS checking?
2. How many DBS checks do you carry out each year, broken down by type eg. Standard, Basic or Enhanced?
3. Are you a registered body at the DBS that umbrellas other organisations?
4. Are you currently doing your DBS checks online and if so, what system do you use?
5. Have you a contract currently with a DBS eBulk provider and if so when does the contract come to an end?

I can advise the following in answer to your original queries:

1. The Council's Lead Counter Signatory is the Executive Director, Central & Community Services.
2. All our DBS checks are enhanced, and we complete just over 100 a year.
3. We are not currently an umbrella organisation.
4. We do not complete DBS checks online.
5. We do not use the ebulk facility.
