"Please can you advise how your establishment processes DBS applications
where applicable - is this paper or do you use a particular 3rd party
provider and if so can you advise how many applications per year do you
process?"
Our DBS applications are completed online and are processed by an
umbrella company, esafeguarding, who are managed by Protocol.  The College
uses an online portal to submit the details of the candidate and then the
form is generated for them to complete.  As a College we complete the ID
checks and submit this to esafeguarding, who then check and submit the
form to the DBS.  The College receives notification when the DBS is
complete. 
We process between 140-160 DBS' each year, as we also DBS students going
into placement.  This academic year we have carried out 159 which is made
up of 67 staff and 92 students on placement.
