Data used to calculate the Gross National Income (GNI)
Dear Office for National Statistics,
I would like to request the raw data used to calculate the Gross National Income (GNI) for the year 2009.
I would like to request this data presented in csv format.
Yours faithfully,
Lisa Evans
Sent request to Office for National Statistics again, using a new contact address.

I am writing to confirm that the Office for National Statistics has now
completed its search for the information you requested about obtaining the
raw data used to calculate the Gross National Income (GNI) for the year
2009.
Unfortunately, listing all the "raw data" is an enormous challenge. Nearly
every business and social survey including the Census contributes to GDP
and ultimately to GNI as well as the administrative data we receive from
outside organisations. Consequently obtaining this information would exceed
the statutory limit where the cost of compliance exceeds the appropriate
limit. This is currently set at 3.5 days or the cost of collating the
information exceeds £600.00. If possible, please can you scale down the
request to enable us to provide advice and assistance. If we had a clearer
idea of what you would hope to use this information for we might be able to
help guide you to information we have already published which may be of
assistance to you.
However, please note a good starting point would be to see chapter 11 of
the GNI Inventory, which explains the key data sources that contribute to
the estimate. http://www.statistics.gov.uk/STATBASE/Pr...
You have the right to have this response to your freedom of information
request reviewed internally by an internal review process and, if you
remain unhappy with the decision, by the Information Commissioner. If you
would like to have the decision reviewed please write to Frank Nolan,
Office for National Statistics, Room 1127, Government Buildings, Cardiff
Road, Newport, Gwent, NP10 8XG.
If you have any queries about this email, please contact me. Please
remember to quote the reference number above in any future communications.
