Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Re Stories of data about lawful protesters being shared by police forces with the DWP

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has stated that it has a data “sharing agreement” with DWP that led to information about protestors (e.g. at Conservative Party Conferences) being shared.

RFI1 – Please disclose a copy of the “sharing agreement” the DWP has with the GMP.

RFI2 – Please disclose the type of data shared by the:
(a) DWP with the GMP.
(b) GMP with the DWP.

Please note this is asking for the type of data, not the actual data which would be exempt under the FOIA.

RFI3 – Please confirm how many other “sharing agreements” the DWP has with UK police forces.

Yours faithfully,

John Slater

Dear [email address] on behalf of Operations FOI Team,

Thank you for a prompt response.

I'm not sure how people protesting lawfully constitutes sufficient belief that a crime might be being committed & thus their personal data being processed in this way. However, that is not a matter for the FOIA.

Yours sincerely,

John Slater
