Data relating to sensitivity and specificity of the ELISA test developed at Porton Down
Dear Public Health England,
Please can you provide the data that gives PHE confidence in the ELISA test for Covid-19 antibodies currently being used for the mass surveilance testing programme.
In particular, please provide sentitivity and specificity data, including samples numbers for both PCR positive samples and PCR negative samples.
In addition, please provide data relating to those samples, which come from patients who were diagnosed with severe Covid-19 ( ie low po2 or requiring oxygen treatment or requiring ventilation) who are PCR positive, but, are not immuno-reactive as judged by the PHE anti-body assay.
In other words , please provide data that differentiates between those patients populations that not immuno-reactive as judged by the PHE antibody assay, but, are either 1) PCR positive, exhibited mild symptons / asymtomatic or 2) PCR positive and had severe Covid-19 .
Yours faithfully,
peter luke
