Jordan Millar made this Freedom of Information request to Southampton City Council Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Southampton City Council should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Southampton City Council,

We are conducting research on how regulators and enforcement bodies are addressing compliance issues in the vaping sector covering:

• Environmental obligations
• Under-age and illicit sales
• Product quality and safety standards
• Inappropriate marketing and advertising

The aim of the study is to encourage the vaping industry to ensure that they are fully complying with all regulations, particularly in light of the increased scrutiny that is being put on the sector currently on issues such as youth vaping, rise in counterfeit and non-compliant products and environmental impact.

We are particularly interested in understanding the following from Southampton Trading Standards. If information/data is not available for all years listed, please provide for years you can. Many thanks.

1. What new initiatives have Southampton Trading Standards put in place since 2021 to address under age and illicit sales in the vaping sector?

5. How many vape retailers were Southampton Trading Standards unsuccessful in prosecuting for underage/illicit vape sales in:
- 2021

6. What were the levels of fines that Southampton Trading Standards gave out to vape retailers/resellers who were prosecuted for underage/illicit vape sales in:
