FOI Requests,

Dear Warwick Clark,

Thank you for contacting the Home Office with your request.

This has been assigned to a caseworker (case ref FOI2024/02320). We will
aim to send you a full response by 4th April which is twenty working days
from the date we received your request.

A link to the Home Office Information Rights Privacy Notice can be found
in the following link. This explains how we process your personal
information:

Kind Regards,

Home Office

HMPO FOI,

Dear Mr Clark

Thank you for your e-mail of 3 March, in which you ask for information on
Data Protection Impact Assessments. Your request is being handled as a
request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).

We are considering your request. Although the FOIA carries a presumption
in favour of disclosure, it provides exemptions which may be used to
withhold information in specified circumstances. Some of these exemptions,
referred to as 'qualified' exemptions, are subject to a public interest
test. This test is used to balance the public interest in disclosure
against the public interest in favour of withholding the information. The
FOIA allows us to extend the 20 working day response target where we need
further time to consider the public interest test fully.

The information which you have requested is being considered under the
exemption in section 31 (1) (a) and (e ) of the FOIA, which relates to law
enforcement. This is a qualified exemption and to consider the public
interest test fully we need to extend the 20 working day response period.
We now aim to let you have a full response by 2 May.

Yours sincerely

Kind Regards

HM Passport Office

Dear General Register Office,

Thank you for the update.

Can you please explain the harm as you need to establish this to engage the exemption before you move on to the public interest test?

Also which parts of the request are you considering this applies to? As how can harm be established by confirming a number for points 1 be 2?

Other authorities are responding confirming numbers, providing information.

I think this extension may not be compliant.

If you are considering the public interest are you intending to ask me for submissions in favour to consider?

Yours faithfully,

Warwick Clark
