Data on Stalking Protection Orders and Interim Stalking Protection Orders applied for by GMP under the Stalking Protection Act 2019

Greater Manchester Police did not have the information requested.

Dear Greater Manchester Police (GMP),

I hope all’s well. I am making a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act about Stalking Protection Orders (SPOs) and Interim Stalking Protection Orders (ISPOs), which were introduced by the Stalking Protection Act 2019. They are applied for by the police in court.

I would like to have a set of specific, discrete data, please:

(i) How many SPOs were applied for by GMP in the period 31 March 2019 - 31 March 2020?
(ii) Of the SPOs applied for by GMP in the period 31 March 2019 - 31 March 2020, how many were granted by the court?
(iii) Of the SPOs applied for by GMP in the period 31 March 2019 - 31 March 2020, in how many applications was an ISPO also applied for?
(iv) Of the ISPOs applied for by GMP in the period 31 March 2019 - 31 March 2020, how many were granted by the court?

Yours faithfully,

Thomas Surr
