Data on locations of Legible London signs

Frankie Roberto

Dear Transport for London,

I would like to request a list of locations and details of the 'Legible London' signs that TfL has installed (sometimes in partnership with London Boroughs or other partners). Preferably this would be in Excel or CSV format, and would include GPS coordinates, as well as any details available like street name, Borough name, the type of sign (fingerpost, monolith, minilith, etc) and the Village & Neighbourhood names (e.g. "Bloomsbury" / "Byng Place").

I understand from a previous request (https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/a...) that TfL was working with the Boroughs to build a "comprehensive record" of the signs, with that work estimated to have been completed by the end of last year. If so then a copy of that report, together with any data on any signs installed since the report was completed, would suffice.

Yours faithfully,

Frankie Roberto

Dear Mr Roberto

Our Ref:         FOI-0780-1516

Thank you for your e-mail received on 31 July 2015 asking for information
about the Legible London signs.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of
the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy.

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested. We have
begun collating the data but it is quite a big undertaking and as such is
not yet complete. We do intend to complete the dataset of Legible London
signs in the future and are exploring the possibility of publishing this
information. However we are not able to provide a date of when this will
be completed. The data on village and neighbourhoods as advised previously
is not something we hold.

Please accept our apologies that we are unable to assist you further on
this occasion.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to
appeal.

Yours sincerely

Gemma Jacob
